I would certainly recommend Jeff, Dave & Pete if you have any wood flooring you're thinking of restoring. They restored the stairs, handrail, landing, master bedroom and two closets for me and it turned out beautifully! Pete did an exceptional job on the post which was loaded with many layers of paint. Jeff, Dave and Pete did a great job on what was a very difficult job. Our 100 year old staircase was covered in thick paint and stain, and needed to be hand-scraped and sanded. I had arranged a different company to refinish my living room and dining room floors. The man stated he couldn't finish my floors due to baseboards were still up, I was under quoted and couldn't guarantee the discolored floor would be ok. He decided he didn't want to do the job even though I had taken time off of work and cleared out my living room and dining area. He didn not want to help me so he left. I was stunned and going out of my mind because I had to finish the floor and we are putting the house up for sale in 2 weeks. I called Second Life Floors and they got back to me within 20 minutes telling me they are extremely busy but because of my situation they will help me. The very next day they came and were so professional and friendly I was stunned. The floors look amazing. I have already told all of my neighbors and I am still talking about it. From sanding and refinishing the old maple floors in the bedroom, kitchen, dining room and both of the living rooms, to finishing the new hardwood on the stairs, the loft and the guest room , literally Top to Bottom the floors are just beautiful. Thank you so much for the awesome job!!! We were worried about the spot between rooms where there was no hardwood. What a fantastic job by Jeff and Dave! We bought a 112 year old house in Cambrdge in August 2010. We had the house empty for a week before we were due to move in and the floors were in serious trouble. I called a few companies to get quotes on staining, and re-finishing the floors. All the companies I spoke with indicated they did not do staining on old floors, some even said it's impossible to fix up floors as old as ours. Feeling a little disgruntled, I contacted Second Life Floors... my mood immediately changed after meeting Jeff and Dave. They assured me that old floors could indeed be re-stained, and explained their process for doing the job right. I was thrilled. Working on short notice, Jeff and Dave were able to come in a complete the job of stripping, filling, staining and finishing all the floors in the entire 2-storey, 3-bedroom 1500sq ft. home in only 5 days. I am really impressed with Jeff and Dave. They were able to give me a quote and get my floors done all in one weekend. During the two days, they worked very hard to make sure every corner was sanded down and provided me with a wide variety of stains to choose from. The next day they came to finish the floors and even did an extra coat of finish the following day just because I asked. These guys will go out of their way to make sure you are completely satisfied. I absolutely love my floors now! This is a 15 year old home and having the hardwood floors refinished made it look brand new.
